HOW TO RELIEVE ENTREPRENEURIAL STRESS

“I’m stressed out” seems to be a staple in almost every CEO’s daily phrase bank. As an entrepreneur, removing stress can be a very difficult task to conquer especially if you’re currently in a growth phase.


So how do you lower your stress levels without compromising the health of your company?


The solution doesn’t always come packaged in a one-size fits all box. Every entrepreneur is different and my require different approaches for removing unnecessary stress from their daily lives. Fortunately, there are 4 basic tips that can work for any entrepreneur.


Daily Exercise

Exercising is so underrated in business. Most people know that they need to exercise but fail to prioritize it in their daily schedule. Sitting behind a computer, losing your mind during calls with clients, and constantly holding back when dealing with your team can take a major toll on your body. When you incorporate and prioritize your health, it helps your body regulate your blood pressure, fight illness, and even stabilize your mood.


Hire More Help


At some point, your business is going to outgrow you. This is a MAJOR cause of stress for entrepreneurs. Analyze your situation and determine if you need to hire. Once you’ve done that, then start your hiring process to find the best people to bring onto your team. Your mind and body will thank you later for making the decision to share your business’s responsibilities with a team.


Journaling

There are days when you feel like you’re going to EXPLODE. You may be angry with an employee or stressed about finances. The cause of your stress needs to be addressed but due to moral and legal constraints, you can’t always act on your emotions. When you get to this point, isolate yourself in your office or room and write. Say everything that you need to say on paper and just let it out.


Step Away


Sometimes you just need a break. A break can range from a 20-minute nap to a 3-week international vacation. Giving yourself time to rest and recover should be a priority. You should find ways to fit a good mix of short and extended breaks into your schedule. Never push yourself over the limit. Doing so can do much more harm to your success than good.


As you become more experienced, you’ll be able to identify and eliminate stress from your work life. No matter where you are in your journey, always remember that you are only as good as your health so take care of yourself.
